Leading-edge presentation training courses
Ideas on Stage offers a range of professional courses covering the new art of presenting.
Each of our courses is available as a private seminar, and most are also run as public courses.
The Art of Presenting
Three days
The Art of Presenting is a complete three-day course covering all the bases of a successful presentation: storytelling, visuals and oratory.
Day 1 is devoted to understanding your audience and choosing your messages, and using storytelling tricks to structure your talk in a clear and memorable way.
Day 2 covers oratory skills including video exercises, and creating powerful visual aids which assist communication.
Day 3 brings it all together in a series of practical exercises, and each participant leaves with personalised advice on how to continue improving.
For presenters who need to communicate important messages clearly and effectively.
Presentation 2.0
One day
This intensive one-day seminar covers a powerful new approach to presenting effectively and memorably.
Beginning with their audience and their objectives, each participant will use a real-life example presentation and learn to structure it, illustrate it with clear slides, and deliver it in a convincing way.
This is a powerful introduction to the new art of presenting, and could be followed by Slides 2.0 which covers effective slide design in greater depth.
For anyone who gives presentations and needs to communicate effectively.
Slides 2.0
One day
We’ve all suffered ‘Death By PowerPoint®’, and know poor slides can kill a great presentation.
Yet effective visual aids can be very powerful tools to communicate your messages more memorably.
This one-day course shows you how to design great visual aids to support your message and keep your audience interested.
It is a natural follow-up to Presentation 2.0, although that is not a prerequisite for Slides 2.0.
For anyone who creates slides or slide templates.
Targeted Presentation Courses
Ideas on Stage offers specific courses for salespeople, entrepreneurs and trainers.
Each of our courses is available as a private seminar, and most are also run as public courses.
Pitch 2.0
Half-day
Many great ideas go nowhere simply because their start-ups fail to raise capital. The investor pitch is a vital step on the road to success.
It’s no longer enough just to be informative: you also need to be more memorable than the dozens of other pitches investors hear. If they forget you, you can forget your chance of funding.
Learn to create and deliver a pitch that tells investors what they most want to know, yet stands out from the crowd.
For entrepreneurs who need to raise capital from investors.
Sales Presentation 2.0
One day
When a salesperson opens PowerPoint®, customers fear the worst. They are used to seeing boring and ineffective presentations from vendors, so their expectations are low. Usually, they get what they expect.
Sadly, many companies lose sales because their poor presentations fail to explain their added value.
Discover a new way of designing and delivering sales presentations that will delight customers and boost sales.
For salespeople and sales managers who use presentations as part of the sales process.
Presenting for Trainers
One day
Slides have taken over most classrooms, but too often they impede learning. Universities, business schools and corporate training rooms are where many of the worst presentation crimes are committed.
At the same time, students now have many distractions (laptops, smartphones…) so it is harder than ever to keep their attention.
This course helps trainers and teachers to communicate effectively and enjoyably, keeping students interested and helping them to learn and remember key messages.
For professors, teachers and trainers.
Tailored To Your Specific Needs
Ideas on Stage offers made-to-measure presentation seminars which cover your exact requirements. From executive retreats to annual sales meetings, we can adapt to your needs.
Example 1: International Presentation Skills at HEC Paris
Presenting in English to non-native speakers is tough, whether or not English is your mother tongue, yet it is a vital skill for international leaders.
HEC Paris Executive Education asked us to create a one-day seminar for international executives who need to present in English around the world.
This course explains how to get your messages across and make the right impression, and avoid making mistakes with your language, gestures, manner or even your message.
Following the seminar’s repeated success, a shortened version was integrated into the HEC Executive MBA syllabus.
Example 2: Generali France IT Executive Committee off-site seminar
The French IT leadership team at leading insurer Generali asked Ideas on Stage to give a half-day seminar for their annual off-site executive meeting.
This tailor-made seminar covered all the bases of what makes presentations effective, with a particular focus on communicating technical data to non-technical stakeholders, and making leadership presentations to large groups of employees.
